Project Help
For the purposes of the Teague Records Pages project, we class a 'family' as any parent(s) and child(ren) and a 'family line' as a generational list of families. This matches in with most genealogical software.
Each family record can be linked to the family record sheet of the parent's parents and to the family record sheet of each child, where they in turn are shown as a parent.
The Records are indexed by 'region' (country, state or county depending upon the numbers involved) and family lines for each region, including lines which are known to have been in the region but have yet to be linked to other family lines, may be browsed via the index. The Family Record number is to be found on the top right corner of each Family page in the form "TN1050" or "CON1001"
The father would appear on his parents' record under a Kentucky reference, which would link to his own family record under a Tennessee reference, where there would be a link to his son's record with an Alaska reference.
Before submitting family records: Please check, by browsing through the index for the relevant region, that records for the family have not already been submitted. We have many cousins and even siblings amongst our researchers and it would be helpful if you could work together to ensure that records aren't duplicated. If you can add a new generation to a Family Record sheet, please make a note of the Record number (at the top right corner of the Family Record page) and use the Add Link facility at the end of each page. Please note that the AddLink facility will not accept submissions without an existing Record Number. (This is to block out automated 'link-adding' software).
New Family records may be submitted using the Add Record facility or may be sent via email to the Resource Centre.
If sending multiple records as email attachments, it would be helpful if they are set in fairly plain format but clearly showing the relationships, as below.

Record 1 RICHARD TEAGUE & Anne SKINNER, St Ewe Cornwall
Richard Teague born on 19 January 1820 and baptised 11 April 1820 (the day his mother was buried), second child of Robert Teague & Mary Ann Teague.
Married: Anne SKINNER, daughter of William & Mary Skinner of Lansallos (date)
Richard was a miller, working with his father at Treverbyn Mill, St Austell in 1851 and subsequently as miller at Polmassick in the parish of St Ewe.
Richard died in December 1865 and was buried at St Ewe, as was his wife Ann, who died 3 months later. Richard's will was proved by his father, Robert as guardian of Richard & Ann's four under-age sons in 1866.

Female lines: The Record Project is about linking family lines with the TEAGUE surname. On that basis, daughters who have produced illegitimate offspring which continue the Teague surname would have a family record sheet of their own, whereas married daughters would be recorded on their parents' family records only.
For example:
Eliza TEAGUE 1737-1802. Married Fred Smith, Kyote Cty, Arkansas 1759 (Direct ancestor of researcher Freda Smith)
Unlinked families: The submission of families which cannot be linked to others in the region is encouraged. Even if you cannot work out where they 'fit in', someone else may be able to.
Detail: Please feel free to add as much detail as you like about the family - occupation, war records, photos, etc. If you are sending in multiple Family Records with photos, please specify clearly to which Record the photos belong.
Sources: It is always helpful to other researchers if you specify the source of your data. Please make any non-specific dates clear by using terms like "born c. 1870s" or "died after 1813". In a similar vein, whilst family legend can be a useful pointer, it should be made clear that the information is not verified - "believed to have come from Tennessee" or "said to have emigrated from Ireland c. 1860s".
Many families have unsubstantiated 'legend' - we are quite happy to add these to FR pages in the form of "it has been suggested that ...". If you have evidence that any information on a FR page is incorrect, we will gladly change the page and quote the sources.
Submitter: Please specify if you would like to be listed as the submitter of the family record. This allows other researchers interested in the same family lines to contact you direct.
