John Teague was born c. 1785 in Chatham County, NC, the son of Vandever Swearingen Teague Sr and Mary M. Carpenter. He died in 1835 in Izard County, Arkansas.

Married: Zilpha Stokes Born: Abt. 1783 in: Hopkins, Christian County, Kentucky or Alabama Died: Abt. 1839 in: Jackson County, Arkansas Father: Redden Stokes (Researcher notes: At the LDS web site (http://www.familysearch.org/) I have found several conflicting dates for Zilpha. Birth dates range from 1779, 1786, 1790 and 1800. Marriage dates include 11/7/1804, 1807 and 1821 (John Joiner was born 4/2/1822). Don't know if these conflicts can ever be resolved. )
