Susan Baerg says: I have an Inn called The Teague House B&B in Yale, BC about 2 hours from the city of Vancouver. We are located in the scenic Fraser Canyon.
I purchased the property in 1990 from Walter Chrane. His grandfather was William Teague, a Cornishman who came to Yale some time in the 1850's during the Fraser River Gold Rush.
Just outside the town of Yale there is an old cemetery where the Teagues have a very prominent family plot dedicated to them and the Chrane Family.
William Teague was one of the Colonial Governments appointed Gold Commisioners as well as a Judge. Contained in the house are some of his books and papers as well as photos of him and his family.
British Columbia Government Archives have a few photos and some of William Teagues writings as well The Museum in Yale has a considerable amount of information as well.
