George Washington Lafayette TEAGUE & Sue FOGY

George Washington Lafayette TEAGUE was born 24 Jul 1832 near Huntsville in Laurens, SC, the son of Elijah Teague & Elizabeth Griffin.

George Washington Lafayette Teague was called "FATE TEAGUE" and was a soldier in the Civil War. He joined the "redshirts", devoted to ending reconstruction, and his obituary noted that he once ran a gang of "carpetbaggers and negros" out of town with a shotgun, as they were attempting to register to vote.

He died 1 Aug 1911 in Laurens, SC and was buried in the Waterloo Cemetery in Laurens County, SC.

Married: George (called "FATE") married SUSAN BARKSDALE FORGY daughter of Asa Jackson FORGY and ETHELINDA BARKSDALE.

Children:

Edgar Walton Teague was born 7/10/1877 in Waterloo, Laurens County SC, died 8/19/1903 and is buried in in the Voiselle plot in Ninety Six, SC. He married Josephine Adella McPherson, daughter of Robert Lee McPherson and Mary Frances Logan.

John Oscar TEAGUE was born 23 Jun 1879 in Laurens Co. Sc and died 10 November, 1938 in Woodruff, SC. He married Mary Elizabeth (Faye) Phelps and Myrtle Lanford.

George Oswald TEAGUE was born 23 Jun 1879 in Laurens Co. Sc. He died 8 Feb 1954 in Laurens County, SC. He married Annie Byrd Benjamin, daughter of William Silas Benjamin and Fannie Chandler.

ROSA ELIZABETH TEAGUE was born about 1880 and died about 1930. She married James Joe T. Hill

EDA FAYE TEAGUE was born about 1883 and married Joe Graff.

ANNIE TEAGUE was born January 20, 1885,and died September 19, 1966 in Laurens, SC. She married December 1904 Gideon Yeargan Hellams.

Franklin Barksdale TEAGUE. He was born May 11, 1887 in Waterloo, Laurens County, SC and died March 14, 1910 near Waterloo, Laurens County, SC.

MINNIE TEAGUE was born in 1891 and died January 26, 1984 in Columbia, SC. She married Robert Andrew Feagan, Sr.

Asa Forgy TEAGUE was born 10 Dec 1893 in Laurens, Sc, Usa. He was killed on Nov. 14, 1925 in an accident as a Road Supervisor at Ora, SC. He is buried in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Cemetery near COLD Point, Laurens County, SC. He married Lucille Reid.

CLARA TEAGUE was born Jan. 31, 1896 and died in 1897.

ERNESTINE TEAGUE was born about 1898 and died about 1904 in Waterloo.
